The Vision

A Thoughtful Vision for Riverbank’s Future

Our Vision

Establish a new community village that offers a mix of uses, anchored by an active adult village that provides exclusive amenities and opportunities for outdoor recreation and socialization for the residents to enjoy a healthy and quality life. The new community village would be reflective of the agricultural history of the site and spirit of the region in the design of parks, streetscapes, trails, and buildings constructed in the community village.

The River Walk Plan, situated just west of Riverbank, will build on the legacy that has made our community one of the most successful in California’s abundant Central Valley. Designed to provide a mix of housing opportunities, anchored by an active adult community and extensive community amenities, River Walk with ensure Riverbank continues towards an ever-brighter future.

River Walk lies just west of River Bank, along the Stanislaus River, on land that consists of primarily fallow agricultural uses.

River Walk will provide a wide range of housing options, with majority of the new homes supporting an active adult (55+) community that emphasizes aging in place. Along with other housing options, a community core at the center of the plan with dining, shopping, recreational and medical facilities will support the community and the broader Riverbank population. Extensive community trails with biking and walking opportunities will encircle and traverse the plan, including a trail along the Stanislaus River. Ample parks and recreational areas that blend with the community and the surrounding landscape will provide opportunities for Riverbank residents to enjoy many active and passive activities. Circulation will be focused on walking and short trip in Neighborhood Electric Vehicles (NEVs).

Approximately 2,500 new homes of varying types, from low-density residential to mixed use housing over retail, will be available in River Walk.
