Project Benefits

Ensuring Riverbank's Future

The River Walk community will bring a wide range of benefits to the City of Riverbank, including a wide range of new housing options, significant community amenities including connectivity to the River, and new dining, shopping, recreational, and social activities.

Providing Needed Tax Revenue for Our Community

The property and sales taxes generated by River Walk will support the community needs for all of Riverbank, including public safety and the new Fire Station for West Riverbank.

River Walk is projected to generate significant new annual new revenue for Riverbank.

And with the majority of housing for an active adult community, River Walk will demand relatively fewer public services and demand for our schools, meaning the tax revenue will benefit the whole Riverbank community.

New Middle Class Jobs in Riverbank

River Walk will also create a large number of jobs during its development phase, and hundreds of permanent jobs. The jobs created will include a mix of well-paying construction jobs, and permanent jobs in office/medical/professional fields and retail and restaurant jobs for those entering the career ladder.

A Mix of Housing for a Diverse Community

River Walk will create 2,500 new homes with a variety of types and affordability. The new active adult community will allow many locals approaching retirement to downsize while staying near their families, freeing up existing homes for first-time buyers.

Additional housing including homes with ADUs, duplexes, townhomes, and senior apartments ensure that all can find a home at River Walk.

Controlling Our Destiny

The River Walk site lies on Riverbank’s immediate western boundary and is naturally aligned with Riverbank’s future.

Bringing River Walk into Riverbank ensures our strong future and ensures we maintain our own identity as the community along the Stanislaus River with a unique identity from Modesto.
